We make theatre.
What can we tell you about ourselves? Well, we’re a group of theatre makers from the United States that loves to explore and send its shows out all over the world. We set high standards, taking the work – but not ourselves – seriously. We thrive by reinventing the familiar. We have a distinctive style that’s all our own. We’re passionate about empowering audiences and artists alike. We take risks and learn from our experiences. We’re the kind of people you want at your party. Especially if there’s free shrimp. We are the New Vintage Ensemble.
“If they are in your area, if you are on the fence at all – just go. You can’t begin to know what you’d be missing ’til you’ve gone. ” – excerpt from review by Inga Bubar
What’s On
Ulysses of Scranton
Inspired by the Classic Novel by James Joyce
Presented by Scranton Fringe and the New Vintage Ensemble
An ensemble of actors rehearse their new production of James Joyce’s Ulysses, but as they progress through the infamously “impossible to adapt” work, they find the line between text and real life starts to dissolve. A theatrical remix of Joyce’s classic novel in which the voices and humour of Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2026 blend with the Dublin of the early 20th-century – the play keeps the heartbeat of the original while layering in contemporary stories to produce a fast-paced, funny and emotionally direct work.
Knowledge of the original book is not essential for enjoyment!
